Further Detail
In this workshop you will be guided to make teapots using the coiling and slab methods of making. We will start by coiling into 2 moulds to make the body of the teapot and then join these 2 sections. Once joined we will then shape the teapot, before adding spout, handle and lid. Before lunch we will prepare the clay slabs for the next teapot, which we will shape using a template. Again once the sections are joined we will add the spout, handle and lid. After tea we will colour the teapots using underglaze colours. Debbie will take the teapots back to her studio to dry and fire, adding a transparent glaze inside and out.
