Maggie Cross
I lived in Hong Kong throughout my childhood where I learnt to speak and write Chinese and later learnt the art of Chinese Brush Painting. I have been teaching for many years and use my skills to run courses on this wonderful artistic style. I teach by demonstration and one-to-one guidance but always allow the student to work at their own level and pace, and to develop their own individual style.
Career Highlights and Achievements
I have written three books on the subject, produced a DVD and have written several articles for art magazines. My work has been collected in several countries around the world and I exhibit at various art venues where I have won ‘Highly Commended’ on several occasions.
Inspirations
My inspiration comes from my childhood memories and my many visits back to China over the years. I also visit lots of famous gardens to gain inspiration not only for my own paintings but for my courses. One of my favourite artists is Wu Guang Zhong – a very influential Chinese artist of the 20th Century.
Other Interests
I love to travel, read books, gardening and walking.
