Sharmina Haq
I am an experienced visual artist specialising in Islamic decoration from Arabesque to Persian geometric design. I have a keen interest in analysing & deconstructing historic geometric and floral patterns and have lead workshops this area.
Inspirations
My art is inspired by extensive travel to the Middle East, Morocco and Turkey and to India and the Far East. With a mathematical background, I have a keen interest in analysing & deconstructing historic geometric and floral patterns.
Other interests
Alongside my art, I am a keen advocate for the revival of traditional Islamic arts and methods. I have undertaken international Islamic art study in Granada, Istanbul and Morocco and have studied at the Princes School of Traditional Arts in London. Some of my artwork can be seen on my Instagram account at https://www.instagram.com/sharmina.haq/?hl=en
