Norah Kennedy

I have been making baskets for almost 30 years. My baskets are made from willow grown mostly on the Somerset Levels but with some unusual colours added from Herefordshire. I like to make baskets that are 'right in themselves and good for use', and I am interested in reviving some of the many traditional uses for willow that may have been forgotten in an age of synthetic materials. The appeal of working with willow, for Norah, lies in the combination of natural materials and traditional skills. She enjoys passing on her skills to others and watching her students create beautiful, useful objects.
