I have created many embroideries and other textile pieces in the past 50 years inspired by my professional and voluntary work with museum costume and textile collections across England over the same period.
For almost as long I have enjoyed sharing what I have learnt through talks and workshops, aiming to provide insights into the past. I describe myself as an artisan embroiderer and costume enthusiast led by a love of the craft of sewing past and present.

When I look at costume and textiles in museums I am interested in knowing the stories behind each piece – who made it, who used it, how and from what was it made and what story does it tell us today; these then inspire my work.
