Victoria Squires
I have taught Art Textiles and Design and Technology for the last 18 years in secondary schools and colleges. I have a degree in Fine Art and Arts Management and have recently gone over to part time teaching to pursue my own painting and design work. When teaching I like to show my skills through numerous sketchbooks I am constantly working on and demonstrations of techniques I have acquired through my long career in textiles. I feel a strength of mine is relating to others and I strive to know their interests so that I can help them achieve the best in their work.
Career Highlights
I am a regular exhibitor of Art Weeks and supply local galleries with my work. I have also exhibited work in London Galleries. I have supplied shops all over the world with my home accessories including Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Macy’s NYC and been published in major magazines such as Homes and Gardens. I have worked as the Art/Set Director of several plays at the Corn Exchange Theatre in Wallingford where we have won best pantomime set in the Oxfordshire Panto Awards.
Inspirations
I am greatly inspired by the countryside around me, my own garden and travels around the world. My aunt is an interior designer in America and I have worked with her for numerous years and feel this has added to my strength in textile design.
Other Interests
I am a keen tennis player, sailor and enjoy cooking and entertaining. I adore walking all over Britain. I support numerous Charities.
