Jean Turton

I was always inspired by Chinese ceramics, and came to Chinese Painting through wanting to paint bamboo on my pots, and now I’m a Chinese painting addict!
Over the last 30 years, I’ve been on painting trips to China, and studied with Chinese artists here. I’m a trained teacher of art and pottery, and have been teaching Chinese Painting for many years. My aim is to inspire others with my love of this art.
Founder member of Chinese Brush Painting Society, and Chair for several years.
My teacher and mentor is Qu Leilei, a Chinese artist living in London, and another inspiration is Maggie Cross, a painting friend of many years.
My favourite old masters would be Shen Zhou and Chi Baishi, among many others.
