Learn how to build on your skills of observation as well as how to draw and record the structure, form and detail of your selected plant or flower, with accuracy as the most important aspect. Working in pencil and watercolour, you will plan, draw and paint a composition to demonstrate your new skills to produce a Botanical Illustration in an age old tradition with a contemporary twist

  • Watercolour, building colour and form
  • Drybrush techniques to add detail and definition

This course is designed for a range of abilities, including complete beginners

Materials are not included in your course fee

Please Bring With You​
  • A small Spring plant, flower, or blossom
  • A4 cartridge paper
  • HB 2H 3B pencils
  • Rubber
  • Sharpener
  • Tracing paper
  • Kitchen towel​
  • Watercolour paper (Hot pressed if possible)
  • Watercolours
  • Pallet
  • Brushes size 6 & 1 + old brush for mixing
 
We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment
