We will look at creating a multi-layered image using collage, line and paint. We will use acrylic paints to create layers of transparent colour, spatters and drips over a collaged base, adding simple printed patterns and stencils. We will then work over the top of this with drawn and painted elements to make a lively mixed media image.
There will be lots of demos, step-by-step instruction & individual help in this fun and informal workshop.

Materials are not included in the course fee. Some materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £6.00 payable to the tutor during the course. The items you will need to bring with you are listed below. The tutor may not have the facility to accept card payments for materials, so please bring cash or cheque.

- Photos / source material such as interesting objects i.e jugs, cups etc / plants, flowers, seedheads / fruit & veg etc (the tutor will also have some you can work from)….you may want to have a theme such as garden / recipes / a particular place etc
- Paintbrushes, mixing palette (an old plate is fine),
- Acrylic paints if you have them (don’t buy specially – the tutor will have basic colours)
- Apron, kitchen roll.
- If you have any stencils or collage papers that you’d particularly like to use please bring them along.
