In this workshop we will experiment with a variety of printing techniques on Glass, from Mono Printing to stencil cutting, silkscreen printing and Decals. Some printed sheets of glass can be fused together and then slumped to create a platter or you may select to print multiple sheets and fuse it together to create a ‘Thick Block’ suitable for display or a wall panel.

Materials
Materials are not included in your course fee. All materials will be provided by the tutor and is payable to the tutor during the course. Materials will be charged according to the projects completed, in the region of £55 to £65 and includes all firings and use of Molds.
Most projects will need 2-3 firings. A Postal service is available at an additional cost of about £6.00
The tutor may not have the facilities to take card payments for materials in the workshops. Please remember to bring cash or your cheque book

We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment.

Skills/Techniques Covered
- Technique 1: Mono Printing. For this technique we will be using black enamel to create marks on the glass with a variety of tools. We will print on two sheets of glass that will be fused together to create an overlay effect.
- Technique 2: Relief Printing and Stencils. We will be experimenting with stamps and Stencils to create texture on the glass. You will be guided in your use of different tools and techniques to cut suitable stencils for the design you wish to create. Or you may use some pre cut designs.
- Technique 3: Silk Screen Printing. Setting up the screen, mixing the printing mediums and screen-printing techniques will be covered using your design and cut stencils. Multiple sheets of glass may be printed and then overlaid and fused together.
- Techniques 4: Decals. A demonstration and explanation on the use of Decal printing will be given and suggestions for its creative use can be explored.

Please Bring With You
- A Sketchbook/Notebook, resources and ideas are always useful.
- Please bring a line drawing and designs suitable to use on A4 paper. Your design must not be bigger than 15cm x 15cm. Please print your image in the middle of the page so as to have a 2cm frame around it. Make at least 5 copies of your design and bring that along.
- If you have a Die Cutter you are most welcome to bring it along as it could come in handy.
- If possible, please bring a Dust Mask.
- Safety glasses will be provided
- Please wear closed toe shoes.
