Further Detail
Project 1: Kiln Carving: You will learn how to create bas relief and texture in glass. This process involves cutting designs in fibre paper, creating different thicknesses and fusing the glass over your design to create contours and textures.
Project 2: Inclusions: In this project you will experiment with metals that are compatible with glass. Materials like foils, meshes, metal powders and oxides can be used to create interesting designs and you can use copper wire to create a line drawing within your design.
You might wish to use your pieces as serving platters or decorative panels, or opt for a further firing to create a shallow dish (an option for both projects).
