Using little more than a craft knife, tape and glue beginners will learn the “Window Method” of cutting veneers to achieve accurate joints. Beginners will work on a design provided by the tutor, but students with some experience are welcome, by prior arrangement, to work on their own project.
Over the two days students should normally completing cutting and assembling their marquetry picture, mounting the picture onto board and start sanding and polishing. Those finishing in good time may be able to make a small “fun” project as well.

All required materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £10, payable to the tutor during the course.
Additional materials will be available to purchase if you wish.
The tutor may not have the facilities to take card payments for materials in the workshops. Please remember to bring cash or your cheque book if your course involves buying materials from the tutor.
Please Bring With You
No items are required, but you may wish to bring your own craft knife/knives for evaluation. A suitable knife will be available to borrow from the tutor, or purchase (£5, incl. spare blades)
