With still life subjects as our starting point we will look at creating a quirky and interesting image using collage, overlapping & transparent shapes, flattened perspective and surface pattern. We will combine quirky line drawings with acrylic paints used both opaquely and transparently to create layers of colour and simple printed patterns, to create a layered painting
There will be lots of demos, step-by-step instruction & individual help in this fun and informal workshop.

Materials are not included in the course fee. Some materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £5.00 payable to the tutor during the course. The items you will need to bring with you are listed below.

- Photos / source material /still life props such as fruit, jugs, cups, plants, seedheads etc (the tutor will also have some you can work from)
- Paintbrushes, mixing palette (an old plate is fine)
- Kitchen roll.
- Acrylic paints if you have them (don’t buy specially – the tutor will have basic colours)
- Apron (if you don't have an apron you can purchase one at the school)
