Note: This workshop is not suitable for people with asthma or breathing difficulties, due to the dusty nature of some of the materials being used. Face masks will be supplied for all students while creating the stone effects on the surface of the bowl.
Further Details:
During the workshop, you will be able to choose the ‘stone’ colour for your bowl – sandstone, granite or brick/terracotta, before learning how to create your stone effect. Additional texture will be added by distressing the base surface, building up layers of Stone Art powder, & incorporating everyday materials into the surface. You will then learn how to mix your own air-drying clay & use this to make embellishments to further personalise your bowl. Finally, we will use bister & acrylic ink sprays, plus pigments to enhance the texture of the ‘stone’ plus learn how to ‘polish’ the surface to add that final finishing touch.

Whilst all materials are supplied by the tutor, including a good selection of silicon moulds, students are welcome to bring along their own silicon moulds to make embellishments with the air-drying clay if they wish.
