Get into the festive spirit with this fun and creative introduction to the art of paper cutting.

 

The workshop begins with a short, illustrated introduction to paper cutting, exploring the craft, its possibilities and some inspiring examples. You’ll then learn the essential techniques for cutting paper safely, accurately and confidently using a scalpel.

 

We’ll start with some simple cutting exercises to help you get familiar with the tools and techniques. Using a selection of prepared festive resource sheets, you’ll create a series of beautiful paper-cut designs, discovering how small cuts and details can be combined to create intricate and effective results.

 

Your finished paper cuts can be transformed into a range of festive projects, including gift tags, Christmas cards, tree decorations and other seasonal decorations.

 

Once you’ve gained confidence with the basic techniques, you’ll have the opportunity to design and cut your own original festive paper-cut design. You’ll be guided through the process of creating a design that is both visually effective and suitable for cutting, with plenty of tips and ideas along the way.

 

Whether you’re completely new to paper cutting or have some previous experience, this is a relaxed and enjoyable workshop where you can learn at your own pace, experiment with your ideas and create something beautiful to take home.

No previous paper-cutting experience is necessary. Beginners will be introduced to the techniques step by step, while those with some experience can develop their skills and explore their own designs.

 

Materials are not included in the booking fee. The tutor will provide all materials. The cost is £5 payable to the tutor during the workshop
