Tutor Clive Eastland
10am - 4pm

This two-day, onsite workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience

Workshop Details
On this workshop you will discover the timeless appeal of Still Life painting. Using the wonderfully flexible medium of soft pastel you will learn how to depict the contrasting reflective surfaces with the variety of textures of the produce in a convincing manner. You will be shown some simple and fascinating techniques of pastel application including how by adding a few light marks with the pastel, you can completely alter the appearance of an object's surface.

Clive will work on his own pieces during the sessions so students can observe the process of development, whilst offering abundant guidance along the way to help you create two lovely paintings of your own to take back home.

Skills/Techniques Covered

  • Various methods of application
  • Layering the pastels
