ArtTalk Details
Albrecht Dürer was the leading German painter, printmaker, and theorist of the German Renaissance. Dürer, who was born in Nuremberg, established his reputation and influence across Europe at a young age producing woodcut prints. Apart from prints, he was also an expert draftsman and watercolorist and is remembered for his acute powers of observation.
His theoretical work on perspective, and the underlying meaning of art, make him a force to be reckoned with. Martin examines many aspects of his life and times with an interesting selection of slides. He will also provide a list of helpful books and links to further explore on a PDF following the talk.
The talk will last for 60 minutes, followed by an open Q&A session.
