ArtTalk Details
Rossetti was a founder member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. His engagement with the medieval world in his watercolours and his exploration of beauty make him a highly influential artist. He was a most unconventional man, and his life is associated with many complicated and intriguing stories. His female muses are most certainly familiar to all lovers of Victorian painting.
Martin looks at his fascinating life in a talk illustrated with a number of original photographs which trace Rossetti’s whole career and his longer lasting influence. Martin will also provide a list of helpful books and links to further explore on a PDF following the talk.
The talk will last for 60 minutes, followed by an open Q&A session.
