ArtTalk Details
William Morris was a textile designer, poet, novelist, Icelandic translator and socialist activist. His involvement and influence upon the Arts and Crafts Movement is incalculable. His vision was far reaching, as were his collaborations with his great friend Edward Burns-Jones.
Morris was one of the most significant figures of the Victorian era, a man whose work both looks back to the middle ages as well as dreaming of a better world for all.
Martin's popular talk will be illustrated where possible with original photographs and slides. He will also provide a list of helpful books and links to further explore on a PDF following the talk.
The talk will last for 60 minutes, followed by an open Q&A session.
