Tues 29th March 2pm - 3:30pm workshop demo
Tues 5th April 2pm - 3pm follow up & feedback
(UK timings)
This LivePlus™ online workshop is ideal for beginners and those with some experience of using gold to illuminate their work
Workshop details
During this brand new workshop, Toni will teach you how to turn gold leaf into beautiful gold paint. This paint was called shell gold because, traditionally, it was stored in a shell.
We’ll break the gold leaf into tiny particles, strain it through silk and talk about how best to bind it so that you can use it as a paint on paper or vellum. You'll be shown a variety of ways of applying your new paint and how to burnish it to a high shine.
You needn't have the materials ready whilst watching the live demonstration – the demo session is a time to watch, ask and learn. After the demo you will be sent a link to the recording, which you can watch as many times as you wish for thirty days.
Specific skills you will learn at the workshop
Materials are not included in the course fee. All the materials and equipment you will need are listed below.
Toni will be creating a kit to accompany this workshop which will contain 5 sheets of loose gold, a small amount of gelatine powder, a square of glassine paper & a piece of habotai silk. The kit will cost approx. £12 plus P&P. Full details of how to order will be provided in the run up to the class.
