Wed 27th April 10am - 12pm
(UK timings)
This LivePlus™ online workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers alike. No experience necessary (and you don’t need to be able to draw – this is not a botanical painting class!)
Workshop details
Create a lively mixed media piece of work incorporating acrylic painting, pastels and a little bit of collage. We will layer, spatter, stick and scribble to produce an abundance of fabulous flowers & foliage…..an impressionistic bluebell wood evoking all the beautiful colours of spring.
We will look at creating a colourful impression of a bluebell wood using a variety of different media & techniques. We will start with some simple colour mixing exercises to establish our palette and capture the blues, purples and vivid spring greens for our picture. This will be supported by fast sketching techniques to experiment with layout and composition.
Then, using acrylic paints, we will create loose simplified interpretations of flowers, foliage & woodland with the emphasis on big blocks of colour and tone. We will add further layers of marks, pattern elements and linework with paint, pastels and collage to create an impressionistic image of our subject…..capturing the essence of spring!
There will be elements of working along with the tutor, if you’d like to, during the Zoom session so please have your materials to hand. After the demo you will be sent a link to the recording, which you can watch as many times as you wish for thirty days.
