Workshop details
Back by popular request, in this class Maggie will introduce you to basics of Chinese painting - a distinct and beautiful art form that uses very different techniques to those often found in traditional western painting styles.
You will start with a brief history of Chinese painting, then Maggie will provide an explanation of the materials required and how they are used, followed by demonstrations of how to hold and load the brush and use it to make the basic strokes you need to produce a variety of subjects.
Maggie will be asking students to submit photographs of their work in the week following session one, so that she can tailor the feedback and demonstrations given in session two.
