Workshop details
Brand new to Ardington ONLINE, Vinny brings us 'Sheer Magic' - an exciting four-part course designed to inspire and excite.
Fascinated by transparent fabrics and light, Vinny developed a range of different processes and techniques which metamorphosed into a body of work she has called ‘The Mersea Florilegium’. Inspired by the flora of the intertidal zone, these beautiful pieces form the basis of this workshop.
As a starting point you will make expressive observations of flora and natural forms . You will then learn how to bond fabrics and fibres and use dissolvables to create ethereal webs and delicate organdie textured grounds.
Using machine embroidery and hand embroidery techniques, Vinny will teach you how to embellish your webs with your favourite natural form using the observations you have made.
Your final outcome from this workshop will be as unique as you are. Every student will be encouraged and supported to follow their own inspirations as the course progresses.
Specific skills you will learn at the workshop
Materials are not included in the course fee. All the materials and equipment you will need are listed below.
