This LivePlus™ online workshop is ideal for beginners and those wishing to further develop their skills with watercolour.
Workshop details
Enjoy the pleasure of drawing and painting beautiful summer flowers with all the freshness and subtleties of summer colours.
First, we will focus on drawing and the importance of careful observation. We will give consideration to mixing fresh translucent color and gain the ability to create good washes and blend colour expertly by using our brushes and paints to best advantage.
During this two-part workshop we will be exploring the techniques and tips of successfully drawing and painting summer flowers. The flowers can be executed as a precise botanical painting or in a modern way: large and loosely painted.
We will look at the different options and discuss the appropriate techniques and tools for each. The sessions will be spent learning the different methods available and using paint and water correctly rather than a finished painting. We will confirm which summer flowers will be the focus of the sessions, closer to the time.
Students will be encouraged to work along as Jan demonstrates the techniques and then practise in their own time between the two sessions. There will be time for feedback in the second session on any work that students wish to share. Access to a link to watch the recording of each class will be provided for 30 days.
