This one-day workshop is designed for those with a little experience of printing and those with more know-how.
Workshop Details
In this workshop you will cover the techniques for Screen Printing on Fabric. If you have been on one of Victoria’s classes before you will be able to expand your knowledge and skills. If you haven’t been on one of Victoria’s workshops but know some basic printing skills you will be able to exact your skills during the day. You will learn more about creating repeat patterns and using the photo emulsion methods of creating screens. Students will have the chance to make their own drawing and develop their own screens. They will also be able to explore other techniques used in screen printing. By the end of the day our goal will be to create a piece of fabric with multiple images and repeats to use as a tablecloth, blind, cushion or picture.

Materials
Materials are not included in the booking fee. Most of the materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £ 10 (or £16 depending on if you purchase your screen), these are payable to the tutor during the workshop.

Skills / Techniques Covered
- Creating a photo emulsion screen with your image on the screen. Creating prints with stencil methods, fluid and filler methods and applying photo emulsion.
- Creating repeat patterns and an overall harmonious fabric composition.
- Using textile inks and printing mediums
- Creating different effects and compositions with your designs.
- Using puff paint and other textural inks.
Materials

Students Please Bring:
- Any fabric you have which you wish to print on
- Be aware that some fabrics have a finish which does not lend itself to the textile inks. The tutor has an array of fabric to print on as well. Natural fabrics are best.
- Please wear old clothes and bring an apron.
- Good textile scissors
- Pencils, pen, a notebook and any images to use which you have found inspirational. If you have fine brushes to produce detail please bring these as well, although the tutor has a supply of these as well.
