Tutor: Karen Carter
Wed 7th September 10am - 11:30am
(UK timings)
This LivePlus™ online workshop forms part of our 'back to basics' range of classes, and is specifically designed for absolute beginners and those looking to build confidence using particular materials.
Workshop details
In this brand new workshop Karen will explore a variety of techniques to make collage papers using acrylic paints, pens and all sorts of things from your recycling box! Then she will show you how to create some fun projects using your newly created stash! No experience necessary – this is a chance to play with your materials and create some mini bits of art along the way.
We will use acrylic paints & pens to create a pile of collage papers – exploring simple printing techniques, repeat patterns, mark-making and lettering. We will then cut, stick and layer our papers to make simple but lively mixed media images, incorporating a bit of linework, some sploshy spattering, and possibly a bit of bling!
Suggestions will be given for other uses for your collage papers (beware – you’ll end up with lots – it’s very addictive!) Give your imagination free reign and collage everything from books and boxes to a whole table top!
There will be lots of demos & step-by-step instruction in this fun and informal workshop….all you need is a big apron and lots of paper! It is up to you whether you have your paints ready to work along with Karen during the class, or just choose to watch and learn. All students will be given access to the recording of the class, which you can watch as many times as you wish for thirty days.
