This LivePlus™ online workshop is suitable for anyone who wants to have a go - no previous experience of painting or printing required!
Workshop details
In this workshop Janina will show you how to create a multi layered artwork incorporating collage and printing, using stylized images of hearts and / or flowers. This is a fairly experimental process so you can follow the images provided or take the process in your own direction.
Janina will start by creating a background with collaged pieces of old book text paper and other thin papers, and then knock this back with gesso. The second stage will be adding the line printing element and, once the line print work is dry, she will add colour using paints and inks, finishing off with embellishments such as glittery bits or decorative papers to complete the pieces.
In this workshop you are welcome to work along at stage one where we will create the collage backgrounds. This stage will need to dry, so the next stages in the workshop will be watching the demonstrations and asking questions! When you come to do your own pieces you may find it helpful to work on 3 or 4 pieces at the same time as there are several stages where you need to let the layers dry before moving to the next stage.
After the demo you will be given a link to the recording, which you can watch as many times as you wish for thirty days. In the follow up session we will look at the pieces you have created and go through any questions that have arisen while you were working on your pieces.
