Workshop Details
In this workshop the tutor will show you how to paint landscapes with watercolour that represent the change from summer to autumn. Using photographs (supplied by the tutor) as reference, you will be shown how to mix the colours of late summer and early autumn and how to paint skies, trees and other landscape features. By the end of the day you will have produced a couple of paintings.
List specific skills and techniques that will be taught in the course:
Colour mixing, washes, wet in wet, light and dark and how to simplify.

We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment.

- A few sheets or a pad of A4 (or equivalent size), 140lb (300gsm) cold pressed (Not surface) watercolour paper
- Watercolour paint in either tubes or pans. If bringing tubes, then you will need a palette.
- Basic set of recommended colours: Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Cadmium Yellow (or Aureolin), Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, Cadmium Red or Alizarin Crimson
- One size 8 or 10 and one size 2 or 4 round watercolour brush
- Tissues
- Eraser
- 2B or 4B pencil
