This one-day workshop is suitable for a range of abilities including beginners
Workshop Details
Enjoy a day experimenting with the art of screen printing and other print methods, adding final embellishments with hand painting. Using an array of fabric shapes to create gifts and tableware decorations this day to stock up on presents and inspire your home decoration for the holidays.
If you are a beginner or have been on previous printing courses you will enjoy this day learning additional print making skills to create decorative fabric items useful for winter decorations. By layering multiple images and marks you will create original pieces of art and ensure your compositions come to life with added texture and colour. We will begin by practicing using screen printing, therma fax printing, relief printing blocks and making final marks with brushes. You can also use embroidery stiches if you want to make a final flourish. Once you have an idea of your final images, you will then choose fabric gifts such as plant pot covers, cushion covers, table runners, napkins, shopping bags or giftbags to print in the afternoon.
Skills/Techniques Covered
