This LivePlus™ online workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers alike. You needn't have the materials ready whilst watching this online demonstration – it is a time to watch, ask and learn - however, you are welcome to work along with Jonathan, if you wish.
Workshop details
In this two-hour demonstration, Jonathan will show you how to paint quick, impressionistic winter landscapes with acrylic.
Using a photograph as reference, he will teach you how to use the versatile medium of acrylic to paint a winter landscape study that can be used at a later date as reference for a more detailed and possibly larger finished painting.

Additional Information
All Ardington ONLINE classes and talks are accompanied by their own online blackboard. Helpful and easy to use, they enable students and tutors to share resources, ideas and photos with each other – just as you would in a classroom environment.
Jonathan will offer personalised critique / feedback via the blackboard for any work uploaded by students within thirty days of the class ending. You will be sent the link to access your blackboard in the week before your class begins and will have access for at least sixty days after the class ends.
After the live session has finished on Zoom, we will share the link to view the recording on the blackboard. You can watch the recording as many times as you like for sixty days.

Equipment & materials list
Materials are not included in the course fee. All the materials and equipment you will need are listed below.
- A4 tear-off palette or a few paper plates
- Size 12 round acrylic painting brush
- Size 4 and size 8 flat or filbert brushes
Brush sizes vary depending on manufacturer. You will need brushes approximately 5mm, 10mm and 15mm wide - Daler Rowney System 3 paint (or an equivalent make such as Winsor Newton) 75ml tubes, one each of the following colours:
- Ultramarine Blue
- Raw Sienna or Yellow Ochre
- Burnt Sienna or Burnt Umber
- Crimson
- Titanium White
- A3 Daler Rowney System 3 acrylic paper (if you have watercolour paper then this will suffice) OR stretched canvas OR canvas board
- Palette knife
- Box of tissues or a rag
- An old shirt or apron to wear when painting
