This two-day workshop is designed for beginners with a little know-how and those with more experience
Workshop Details
We will be using the traditional Chinese equipment and technique of free brush to create a choice of subjects, such as tigers and eagles, fish and small animals. Free brush is using each brush stroke to make a feather, a limb or a grass to build up the composition. If time permits we could also try some meticulous painting on silk, which involves making an outline with ink, and building up the subject with layers of shading washes and colour washes.
Materials
Materials are not included in the booking fee.
Please bring any Chinese Brush Painting equipment and any watercolours (cheap tubes fine) you may have. There will be Chinese ink for you to use, and chinese paper (£1 – 3 sheet), silk ( from £3 piece, or silk fan £5) and brushes, ( from £4 – 9 ) available from the tutor on the day.
We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment.
