This one-day, onsite workshop is suitable for beginners with a little experience and those wishing to refresh.
Workshop Details
Create a useful garden basket to grow and support sweet peas. Ideal as a first stake and strand basket as there is no border. Some previous willow weaving helpful. We recommend you have made round bases before as in the 'Willow Flower' workshop or made a frame basket . This full day of weaving can be intense or tiring. Bring sharp secateurs and wear old trousers. If you have a recent injury, suffer from RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis please check with the tutor first.
Skills / Techniques Covered
We will weave a round base with pairing. This is followed by staking up and a three rod wale. The sides will be a slewed weave. Finally the weaving is topped off with more waling.
Materials
Materials are not included in the booking fee. All materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £10 payable to the tutor during the workshop. Please bring cash or cheque.
