Tutor: Karen Carter
Wed 8th March 10am - 12pm
(UK timings)
This LivePlus™ online workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers alike. There will be elements of work-along during the workshop and so we would encourage students to have their materials to hand, ready to participate live.
Workshop details
Using a variety of different techniques and media we will explore different approaches to creating quirky or slightly abstracted still life studies playing with distortion, layering & ways to develop an image.
Working on both light, dark, and coloured grounds, we will create a series of images starting with various exercises designed to free you up and embrace the unexpected and serendipitous!
We will explore a range of media, making the most of their particular qualities and characteristics, to create a varied collection of images. We will then look at ways of developing and enhancing our starting points to create finished pieces of work.
An experimental and informal workshop guiding you through a series of fun exercises to take the fear out of drawing – suitable for complete beginners and anyone wanting to find new ways to get started.
Specific skills you will learn at the workshop

Additional Information
All Ardington ONLINE classes and talks are accompanied by their own online blackboard. Helpful and easy to use, they enable students and tutors to share resources, ideas and photos with each other – just as you would in a classroom environment.
Karen will offer personalised critique / feedback via the blackboard for any work uploaded by students within thirty days of the class ending. You will be sent the link to access your blackboard in the week before your class begins and will have access for at least sixty days after the class ends.
After the live session has finished on Zoom, we will share the link to view the recording on the blackboard. You can watch the recording as many times as you like for sixty days.
We suggest that you do not buy any specialist materials more than one week in advance as, occasionally, a class may be cancelled due to low enrolment.
