Lunch & afternoon tea provided

This one-day, onsite workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience
Workshop Details
We will create multi-layered, complex images using a mix of simple techniques, combining paint and printed elements including Gum Arabic transfer, directly onto fabric surfaces.
We will work on different fabrics that can be stitched and collaged together or used as individual pieces in their own right. We will be working on interesting surfaces with resists and stencils, paint and print, in a variety of ways – which can then be embellished with decorative stitching and dimensional paints to add texture and detail.
No previous experience needed in either textiles or printing….this is a playful experimental approach to working on cloth (please note that this is for ‘art textiles’ that won’t need washing rather than practical items).
Skills / Techniques Covered
Materials
Materials are not included in the booking fee. Some materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £8 payable to the tutor during the workshop. The items you will need to bring with you are listed below:
Students - please bring with you:
Fabric
We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment
