Many of you love hares and some of you have enjoyed Richard's course about how to paint a hare in just one day. Now there’s an opportunity to draw a hare with your sewing machine also in just one day. Richard, will provide the image and demonstrate the process step by step. He will show you how he employs the Impressionists’ system of using only primary and secondary colours to create the amazing illusion of greys, browns and even blacks.
Notice, in the illustration, that he sometimes exaggerates this, and, thereby uses these colours more expressively.
He will explain in his stage-by-stage demonstration how all these effects can be achieved. If you follow Richard's 'recipe', you will be thrilled by what you can achieve.

Please read the following list very carefully
Richard will bring his entire collection of machine sewing and machine embroidery threads for you to borrow if you find difficulty in finding one or two of the aforementioned colours.
We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment.

Students Please Bring -
Please read the following list very carefully
- A sewing machine with which you are familiar, which lowers its ’feed ‘and possesses the ‘darning foot’, now known as the ‘free motion foot’
- If you have never used this foot before, try using it for little while beforehand.
- Sewing machine needles ranging from 75 to 90 or even 100.
- A variety of machine sewing and machine embroidery threads in dark, medium and pale primary and secondary colours plus white and metallic gold and silver.
- Some coloured pencils.
- An embroidery hoop about 9 inches in diameter.
- About half a metre of thin white cotton or polyester sheeting.
