Workshop details
Art Journaling is a fun and simple way to be creative.  A new addition to our ONLINE programme, it fits very well with our ethos of 'Learn, Design, Create'. Throughout 2023, Sai Banerjee will be teaching a number of exciting sessions in which we will explore the joy of Art Journaling through different mediums and art techniques.

This class is the first of our new series; a delightful Spring themed workshop in which you will learn how to paint loose, expressive watercolour florals. A fun and meditative process!

In this introductory session we will learn to paint a variety of watercolour florals.  Working with wildflowers and leaves picked from your own garden, we will cover the basic techniques and brush strokes required to paint without any preliminary drawings.  We will explore colour mixing and consistency to ensure good results, and you will be taught some interesting tips and hacks that will help you to expand your watercolour floral painting skills.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners. No previous experience required. If you are looking to learn a skill that will help you to be creative, de-stress and reconnect with yourself, then Art Journaling is for you.

Once you have learned the basic techniques and brush strokes, why not join us in the follow up class in June, where we will learn how to apply the skills to create beautiful floral compositions.

Specific skills you will learn at the workshop
  • Basic techniques and brush strokes for loose watercolour florals
  • Colour mixing
  • Tips and tricks for developing your floral painting skills

Additional Information
All Ardington ONLINE classes and talks are accompanied by their own online blackboard. Helpful and easy to use, they enable students and tutors to share resources, ideas and photos with each other – just as you would in a classroom environment.

Sai will offer personalised critique / feedback via the blackboard for any work uploaded by students within thirty days of the class ending. You will be sent the link to access your blackboard in the week before your class begins and will have access for at least sixty days after the class ends.

After the live session has finished on Zoom, we will share the link to view the recording on the blackboard.  You can watch the recording as many times as you like for sixty days.

We suggest that you do not buy any specialist materials more than one week in advance as, occasionally, a class may be cancelled due to low enrolment.
