This two-day workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those with more experience
Workshop Details
This is a 2 day course that will show you how to paint impressionist landscapes from your imagination with acrylic paint.
Your tutor will show you how he creates his paintings from rough sketches and turns them into full size paintings. You will start by generating your own ideas with pencil sketches then, after selecting your colour palette, you will produce your painting using the versatile medium of acrylic. By the end of the workshop you will have produced a couple of small paintings.
Skills & Techniques Covered
Colour mixing, light and dark, different brush marks, scumbling, using the acrylic paint thick and thin.

Materials are not included in the booking fee. The items you will need to bring with you are listed below:

We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment.

Students - please bring with you:
- 1 x A4 tear-off palette or a few paper plates
- 1 x size 4, 8 and 12 round acrylic painting brush
- Brush sizes vary depending on manufacturer. You will need brushes approximately 5mm, 10mm and 15mm wide plus one size 2 or 4 round watercolour brush
- Daler Rowney System 3 paint (or an equivalent make such as Winsor Newton) 75ml tubes, one each of the following colours: Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue or Prussian Blue, Cadmium Yellow, Burnt Sienna or Burnt Umber, Cadmium Red and Titanium White
- 1 x A3 Pad (or a couple of sheets) Daler Rowney System 3 acrylic paper
- (if you have watercolour paper then this will suffice)
- 1 x palette knife
- box of tissues or a couple of small rags
- cling film to cover your palette
- an old shirt or apron to wear when painting
