Tutor: Lucy Burton
Fri 22nd September 10am - 12pm
Fri 29th September 10am - 12pm
(UK timings)
This LivePlus™ online workshop is suitable for students of all abilities who have some basic experience with their chosen medium. This is a work-along workshop and so we would encourage students to have their materials to hand, ready to participate live during the class.
Workshop details
In this two-part workshop, Lucy will teach you how to paint a captivating floral still life.
We will consider how to arrange and light a still life using flowers with different coloured backgrounds, creating interesting and unusual compositions and colour relationships. We will create some simple tonal sketches whilst discussing composition, then all work to the same image to create a painting of a floral still life in either oils or acrylics.
Paint along with Lucy during the class or just watch and have a go at a later date. We will be looking at how to apply the paint in a dynamic and interesting way: focusing on colour, brushwork and composition. Lucy will be working in oils during the demonstrations.

Additional Information
All Ardington ONLINE classes and talks are accompanied by their own online blackboard. Helpful and easy to use, they enable students and tutors to share resources, ideas and photos with each other – just as you would in a classroom environment.
Lucy will offer personalised critique / feedback via the blackboard for any work uploaded by students within thirty days of the class ending. You will be sent the link to access your blackboard in the week before your class begins and will have access for at least sixty days after the class ends.
After the live session has finished on Zoom, we will share the link to view the recording on the blackboard. You can watch the recording as many times as you like for sixty days.
We suggest that you do not buy any specialist materials more than one week in advance as, occasionally, a class may be cancelled due to low enrolment.
