This one-day workshop is suitable for complete beginners, and those with more experience.
Workshop Details
In this workshop you will have the opportunity to experiment with media and techniques to explore an exciting approach to painting..We will make observations from the garden - using creative drawing techniques , recording shapes, colours and textures and marks. We will explore different approaches and mixed media techniques and develop the experiments into compositions whilst exploring colour mixing and combinations to use in our work. Creating collage papers and stencils to enrich the image with mark and pattern and learn layering techniques and background effects. We will work on a series of small images that can be used as starting points for a bigger piece, or be pieces of art in their own right – a
relaxed opportunity to 'play' with materials and gain confidence to be expressive and create a personal response.

Materials

- Basic acrylic paint
- Oil pastels
- PVA glue
- Basic papers - tissue,, cartridge,collage etc
Students - please bring with you:
- Drawing materials- soft pencil (2b), pens, rubber etc
- Paper or sketchbook for drawing outside
- Watercolour paper or thick cartridge A3 or bigger (sheet or pad) as a base.
- Nature images for inspiration
- Brushes (a range of sizes) for acrylic
- If you have your own acrylic paints and wish to bring them, please feel free – but please do not buy any specially, as the tutor will have them.
