Workshop details
This is the fourth in our exciting 'Just One Thing' series. Born from the traditional concept of 'single object studies', each class will explore one item in many different ways; an important lesson in observation for any student, but given a fun and informal twist!
Late autumn and the colour of summer flowers gives way to the muted shades and structural forms of seedheads. It’s a time to collect our stores for next years planting and revel in the delicate and sculptural shapes that fill our gardens and hedgerows. In our simply seedheads class, we will explore a myriad of ways to work with seedheads as your inspiration – you'll be amazed at what you can do with just one thing!
Artists such as Angie Lewin have long been fascinated by the delicate beauty of seedheads. We will take inspiration from her prints and watercolours to create a series of samples that can be used for cards, tags or made into a little book to store your seed collections. And just for fun we’ll decorate a terracotta pot with simple foam stamps and acrylic paint.
We’ll spend a relaxing couple of hours playing with collage, paint and some easy printing and transfer techniques. Absolutely no experience needed for this fun and informal workshop…..just gather a collection of seedheads and have fun!

Additional Information
All Ardington ONLINE classes and talks are accompanied by their own online blackboard. Helpful and easy to use, they enable students and tutors to share resources, ideas and photos with each other – just as you would in a classroom environment.
Karen will offer personalised critique / feedback via the blackboard for any work uploaded by students within thirty days of the class ending. You will be sent the link to access your blackboard in the week before your class begins and will have access for at least sixty days after the class ends.
After the live session has finished on Zoom, we will share the link to view the recording on the blackboard. You can watch the recording as many times as you like for sixty days.
We suggest that you do not buy any specialist materials more than one week in advance as, occasionally, a class may be cancelled due to low enrolment.
