Course details
Who can resist a hand-made teddy bear? These little cuties can be made easily at home with minimal materials - no specialist tools, just scissors, needle, and thread.
Ideal for hanging on the Christmas tree as decorations, these little teddy heads could also be given as small, hand-made gifts to loved ones. Dress them up with a hat for any occasion and enjoy the process of creating something completely unique!
In this one and a half hour session, you will be given all the instructions and demonstrations you need to make the bear decorations, plus the templates in three sizes, so you can make a full set of three bears if you want to.
Specific skills you will learn
- Choosing and cutting bear fabrics – both real mohar and synthetic alternatives
- Working from a pattern
- Backstitching bear pieces pieces together by hand
- Adding glass eyes and embroidering a nose and features and / or using safety nose and eyes
- Stuffing your teddy bears and closing up / finishing off in ladder stitch by hand
- Making an optional hat for your bear with ribbon to hang them from your tree
