Talk details
Throughout the centuries artists have been captivated by The River Thames in London. This talk looks at how artists have depicted the bridges, boats and building that flank the river.
Taking a trip through London on the water is a journey through a rich artistic history. Painters as diverse as Monet, Turner, Whistler and Canaletto all feature. Artists depict the river in sunshine, rain and snow; Martin's talk will be richly illustrated with original and fascinating paintings from different eras.
Martin will provide a list of helpful books and links to further explore on a PDF following the talk via the class information page.
