To celebrate the end of another wonderful year of art history talks from Martin, we are offering free access to this final talk of the 2024 series.
Talk details
In this festive special, Martin looks at Christmas 'across the pond' in terms of visual art and culture. He will be featuring many distinctly North American takes upon the holiday season.
We will look at magical snowscapes as well as busy cities with festive lights and shop. You might recognise the well known work of artists such as Norman Rockwell, and come to know more about the work of Charles E. Burchfield. This talk is an ideal opener to the holiday season and a feast of art both familiar and new.
Martin will provide a list of helpful books and links to further explore on a PDF following the talk via the class information page.
