Session details
This Christmas Craftalong is a special festive edition of our Wellbeing work-alongs. A new addition to the Ardington ONLINE programme; the perfect opportunity to take the pressure off, slow down, and indulge in a bit of ‘you’ time. These stripped back sessions are a step away from our traditional jam-packed classes; there'll be no handouts and, more importantly, no homework!
Join us as we potter our way gently through an absorbing single project, enjoying the simple pleasure of spending time together creating something wonderful.
Bring a warm welcoming glow to your mantlepiece or table – or even bathtime - as the winter nights draw in. We will be making lovely little gingerbread townscapes (no baking required!) wrapped around a tealight candle. We'll draw and construct our tiny town using brown paper, some simple papercutting, and white and gold acrylic pens. Of course, there might also be a smattering of glitter!
Karen will provide a template as a starting point, but feel free to create your own interpretations from cosy cottages to a city skyline! Then add a simple insert to diffuse the light and bask in the glow! A fun and festive workshop to get you in the mood for Christmas or simply create some delightful adornments to your home this winter.
We will all be working along with Karen at a gentle pace. Follow along step-by-step or use your own creative freedom to incorporate the materials and methods Karen demonstrates - the choice is completely yours.
We are really looking forward to sharing these new sessions with you. So, grab yourselves a cuppa, switch off your phone, and settle down to enjoy a peaceful afternoon creating with us online!
Specific skills you will learn
- Creating stylized, illustrative buildings
- Simple papercutting techniques
- Constructing a tealight ‘wrap’
Additional Information
All Ardington ONLINE classes and talks are accompanied by their own online class page. Helpful and easy to use, these private pages enable students and tutors to share resources, ideas and photos with each other – before, during, and after class. The link to access the page will be shared via email in the days leading up to the class.
We suggest that you do not buy any specialist materials more than one week in advance as, occasionally, a class may be cancelled due to low enrolment. For full terms and conditions, please click here.
