This one-day workshop is suitable for beginners with a little experience and those with more know-how.
Workshop Details
On this workshop we will be painting various shells and pebbles predominantly in watercolours, but also including other media such as wax crayons, inks, pastels and gouache. We will explore many different textures and techniques to create a beautiful circular artwork in a harmonious colour palette.
Skills / Techniques Covered
Materials
Materials are not included in the booking fee. Watercolour paper will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of this will be £5 payable to the tutor during the workshop. The tutor can accept cash or card.
Students - please bring with you:
Watercolour paints:
...and a few extra bits
An old toothbrush, clear or white wax crayon, sea salt, cling film, bubble wrap (a small scrap),
white gouache, sea sponge, a drinking straw, soft pastels/charcoal pencils (just a few colours)
We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment.

- Cobalt blue, ultramarine blue, cobalt turquoise light
- Lemon yellow, Naples yellow, yellow ochre
- Burnt sienna, burnt umber
- Indigo, Payne's grey
- Watercolour brushes
- Palette (deep wells)
- Water spray
- 2B Pencil
- Eraser
- Masking tape
- Paper towels/kitchen roll
- Water pot
