Class details
In this brand-new class, we will learn how to create an elegant composition of radiant watercolour roses in a loose and lively style.
Nicky will show you how to use watercolours in the 'wet in wet' method to develop a range of rose shapes that you can put together in beautiful and effective compositions. You will be provided with a selection of high quality photos before the class, and then we will work along together to capture the romanticism of radiant roses.
This class is the perfect follow on from Nicky's Simplifying Roses class in January.
Specific skills you will learn
- How to paint roses in a wet in to wet method
- How to create a background that integrates with the flowers using soft edges
- How to develop a range of roses shapes that work organicly to create an effective composition
- How to interpret photos to create affective compositions
- How to colour mix and use various consistency of paint to progress through the artwork
- How to used direct brush works to make dynamic paints
