Course details
We are delighted to welcome Sharon Zeugin back to Ardington ONLINE with this beautiful, bespoke four-part class. Students of all levels are welcome.
Join us as Sharon invites us to slow down and engage all our senses as we draw the beauty around us. Inspired by Frederick Franck’s philosophy and approach in 'Zen Seeing, Zen Drawing', we will use ordinary tools like pencils, ball point pens, Tombow brush markers and water brushes to make contour drawings of our surroundings, including our hands, plants, flowers, objects in our studio. Our intention is to learn to really SEE and FEEL what we are drawing, enjoying the process itself rather than worried about a finished product.
We will not shy away from color in this course. Using black markers, we will draw into abstract color 'splashes' created with watercolors and Tombow brush pens. In addition to pure contour drawing, we will explore other approaches to drawing: gesture, intuitive, abstract. Using unusual tools like pipettes filled with sumi ink, we will experiment with 'Sink Art'. Drawing on her skills as a calligrapher, Sharon will also invite us to integrate text using our own handwriting and simple monoline capitals.
Additional Information
All Ardington ONLINE classes and talks are accompanied by their own online class information page. Helpful and easy to use, these private pages enable students and tutors to share resources, ideas and photos with each other – before, during, and after class. The link to access the page will be shared via email in the days leading up to the class.
We suggest that you do not buy any specialist materials more than one week in advance as, occasionally, a class may be cancelled due to low enrolment. For full terms and conditions, please click here.
