Class details
Led by Certified Zentangle® Teacher, Sheila Murray, our Zentangle® classes are a perfect opportunity to step out of your daily routine and immerse yourself in the world of relaxation and creativity!
In this month’s session, we'll be drawing inspiration from the distinctive style of M.C. Escher, known for his intricate and mathematically inspired designs. Escher's work often features repeating patterns and fascinating interlocking shapes, creating a sense of movement and illusion.
We'll explore these concepts by incorporating elements of tessellation and symmetry with our tangles, focusing on how simple patterns can transform into complex visual effects. This class invites you to experiment with structure and repetition while enjoying the mindful process of creating your own Escher-inspired designs.
Students are encouraged to tangle along live, chatting and asking questions to gain the most from the process. To enable you to practice again in your own time, the sessions will be recorded and tangles will be accompanied by written notes as an aide memoire.
Specific skills you will learn
- The eight steps of The Zentangle® Method
- You will be able to understand Zentangle® terminology
- Learn to draw a tessellated tangle style
- Learn how we add shading to enhance the illusion
Additional Information
All Ardington ONLINE classes and talks are accompanied by their own online class information page. Helpful and easy to use, these private pages enable students and tutors to share resources, ideas and photos with each other – before, during, and after class. The link to access the page will be shared via email in the days leading up to the class.
We suggest that you do not buy any specialist materials more than one week in advance as, occasionally, a class may be cancelled due to low enrolment. For full terms and conditions, please click here.
