Course details
Enjoy the pleasure of capturing those first signs of Spring in this two-hour watercolour painting class with Jan Mehigan. The session will focus on a series of small, quick studies rather than a single finished painting.
During this class we will be exploring the techniques and tips of successfully painting flowers and plants with watercolour paints. We will give consideration to mixing fresh translucent color, gain the ability to create good washes, and learn how to blend colour expertly by using our brushes and paints to best advantage.
Jan will confirm which botanicals will be the focus of the sessions, closer to the time.
Specific skills you will learn
- Observation of the important elements
- How to apply a wash
- How to create successful blending of colour
- How to create shadows
- The secret of subtle or bright colour
All Ardington ONLINE classes and talks are accompanied by their own online class information page. Helpful and easy to use, these private pages enable students and tutors to share resources, ideas and photos with each other – before, during, and after class. The link to access the page will be shared via email in the days leading up to the class.
We suggest that you do not buy any specialist materials more than one week in advance as, occasionally, a class may be cancelled due to low enrolment. For full terms and conditions, please click here.
