Workshop Details
You will design and make a stained glass panel that includes painted kiln-fired pieces. Emphasis will be placed on glass painting techniques. Traditional glass paint is a black medium applied to the surface of coloured glass and kiln-fired. It is used to create patterns and textures which are independent of the lead line. From a selection of prepared designs, you will cut the coloured glass to make the panel. We will then mix and apply paint to the glass and you will be able to make patterns and designs in the painted surface.

Your painted pieces will be kiln-fired overnight. The glass will then be leaded together into a panel which is then soldered and cemented to finish. The final cleaning is done at home the next day. Tuition will be through group demonstrations and individual guidance.
